Here are two types of Dahi Bara recipes for you:



1. Classic Dahi Bara

Ingredients:

- 1 cup urad dal (black gram lentils)

- 2 cups yogurt

- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

- 1 teaspoon chaat masala 

- 1 teaspoon red chili powder

- 1 teaspoon black salt

- Salt to taste

- Oil for frying


Instructions:

1. Soak the urad dal in water for 4-5 hours or overnight.

2. Drain the water and grind the dal into a smooth paste using a little water if needed.

3. In a bowl, beat the yogurt until smooth and add a little water to achieve a pouring consistency. Add salt to taste.

4. Heat the oil in a deep pan for frying.

5. Using wet hands, take small portions of the dal paste and drop them into the hot oil. Fry until they turn golden brown and crispy.

6. Once fried, remove the vadas from the oil and soak them in lukewarm water for 15-20 minutes.

7. Squeeze out the excess water from the vadas and arrange them in a serving dish.

8. Pour the beaten yogurt over the vadas, ensuring they are fully covered.

9. Sprinkle cumin seeds, chaat masala, red chili powder, and black salt on top for added flavor.

10. Refrigerate for an hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.




2. Dahi Bara Chaat

Ingredients:

- Prepared Dahi Baras

- 1 cup boiled and cubed potatoes

- 1 cup boiled chickpeas

- 1 cup tamarind chutney

- 1 cup green chutney

- 1 cup beaten yogurt

- 1 teaspoon chaat masala

- 1 teaspoon red chili powder

- 1 teaspoon cumin powder

- Chopped coriander leaves

- Sev (crunchy chickpea noodles)


Instructions:

1. Arrange the Dahi Baras in a serving dish.

2. Top them with boiled potatoes and chickpeas.

3. Drizzle tamarind chutney and green chutney over the Dahi Baras.

4. Pour beaten yogurt over the Dahi Baras.

5. Sprinkle chaat masala, red chili powder, and cumin powder on top.

6. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and sev.

7. Serve immediately and enjoy the flavorful Dahi Bara Chaat.
